Welcome to XPirata!
Coming SOON...XPirata! A dry camping and outdoor venue.
Located in scenic area of Terranova in the municipality of Quebradillas - The Pirate's Lair. Conveniently located off PR-2.
XPirata is located on Calle Estacion, the old sugar train route that leads to the historic Puente Blanco (train bridge) a few minutes down the street that was recently re-opened to traffic. The street is frequented by walkers, runners, cyclists, mountain bikers, and others...including cars (use caution).
The site is roughly 7 acres total and consists of flat land, hill side, small caves, and a partial ocean view and soon...walking trails!
Pirates, sugar barons, and natural beauty!
The municipality of Quebradillas is a playground for nature lovers and those looking for outdoor excitement, like camping and hiking. The most popular recreational spot is the Guajataca area, where you'll find a river, forest, lake, and beach.
Things to Do
Guajataca Tunnel and Beach
For a beautiful, easy coastal trek, visit the Guajataca Tunnel. The old railway tunnel carved into the side of the mountain is a remnant of the Island's sugarcane industry. The beach is rocky and the waves from the Atlantic Ocean are very rough, making it a sightseeing beach and not suitable for swimming.
Guajataca Lake
This manmade lake was created in 1929 and is fed by the Guajataca River. Currently, the lake is used as a reservoir, wildlife refuge, and recreational area, so it's a popular spot for kayaking and fishing.
Puerto Hermina Beach: A Pirate's Hideaway
Puerto Hermina Beach is a secluded spot. The water conditions are more appropriate for surfing than for swimming. A historic ruin is thought to have been the hideout of Puerto Rican pirate Roberto Cofresí, who terrorized the West Indies in the 1800s.
La Guarida del Pirata (The Pirate's Lair) Mini-Golf
To really live the pirate experience, go for 18 holes of mini-golf decorated with skeletons, treasure chests, pirate ships, and, of course, pirates. Every week, the mini-golf course also features live music or DJs playing everything from acoustic rock and salsa to old-school reggaetón.
